Welcome to my home

My home, It’s a reflection of me. It’s what sets the stage to my persona.  Everyone’s home tells a story.  I learn a lot about people when I enter their homes. I see what is important to them, what I read in their space sums up chapters of the person I visit. Every visitor that comes through my door needs to feel welcome and also learn a little about me through my dwelling. My home is not a masquerade, rather a piece of my land in which I do as I please so the authentic vibes cradle all who are welcomed in. 

No matter where I am in the world, after sometime I’ll begin to miss my safe haven.  It’s my happy place, where I can be myself, I can let go and function on my timetable.  It’s the space that protects me from the exterior clatter of the world, from the elements and the unnecessary noise.  The comfort a home brings, elevates its beauty.  It should manifest a positive atmosphere and disperse the same to all who enter. Where you spend the most important times is your home, where you switch off from the world and the place you awaken to a new beginning, is your home. 

I’m an orderly person and so things are always in their place.  One-of-a-kind pieces fill my den.  If zen were a color it would be green. Numerous plants fill my empty spaces and it helps draw the outdoors inside. I proudly display the majestic pieces of my origins, each item displayed in my home holds a story and each piece has a special meaning. The artifacts in my home hold a bond, they tell a tale. My walls house art, I picked them out because they speak to me.  Earthy tones dashed with a splash of color here and there invite togetherness. Books bind my space and candles light my evenings. The smell of incense unites my youth to the present day and the abundance of frames help me remember loved ones. The constant sound of music rejuvenates my soul. Above all, the picturesque view from my windows ties my little home together with the big wide world. My home speaks volumes, it tells a story about me to all who enter my doors.

Your home is where you uncover your true being, where the bare feet and the organic body dwell.  Your home is where you speak your mind and shed tears in silence. It’s where you wash off the worries of the day and where you lay your head for slumber.  It’s where you pray for forgiveness. Your most imperative decisions are made within these four walls. It's where your secrets lay still, your meals are shared and where your flutes and coups fill with laughter. Your home is where the real you comes alive and where you transform yourself for the world that awaits outside. And each time I step outside the door, I remember, there is only one key that is of importance. The key to my home because it is where my heart resides.
